4. Program Overview

      This program represents an innovative model that integrates undergraduate economics education with the prestigious international professional education of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. It aims to address the urgent need for high-level, internationalized financial talents in China. The track is dedicated to cultivating morally and professionally qualified professionals with solid theoretical grounding in finance and strong mathematical foundations. It emphasizes developing practical application skills, English proficiency, innovative thinking, and adaptability. Graduates will master the fundamental theories and methods of economics and finance, while possessing financial investment analysis capabilities, shaping them into applied, international, interdisciplinary, and innovative financial professionals with diverse comprehensive qualities.

      Students from the CFA track have won first prize in the preliminary round of the "FLTRP Cup" National English Contest, provincial third prize in the Hubei "Challenge Cup" Extra-curricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, and the championship in the CFA National Financial Investment Analysis Challenge hosted by Rongshi International Education. In the CFA Institute Research Challenge - South China Region, as one of only two shortlisted universities from Hubei, they advanced to the finals and received the Excellence Award.       Employment rates for the CFA experimental classes from 2017 to 2020 reached 100%, with over 30% pursuing further studies domestically or abroad. Graduates have been admitted to prestigious institutions such as the University of Glasgow, UNSW Sydney, University of Edinburgh, University of Macau, Jinan University, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. The average pass rates for CET-4 and CET-6 are 100% and 85% respectively.
